Yes. A one piece race seat gets 6 more inches of head room, and more if it is bolted to the floor.

That person has my condolences. I d rove the racecar for a bit as my only car after it was caged my senior year of high school. Even my 17 year- old self rapidly came to the realization of what a terrible idea that was and bought a second car to drive on the street after only a couple of months.
